PUMPKIN PATCH
Each year we add
to the many varieties of pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn we already grow.
Bottle gourds are a fun craft project. You need to let them dry for several
months until the seeds rattle around inside like a maraca. Don’t throw them
away if they turn black they just need be cleaned with a solution of bleach
and water. Once they are cleaned they can then be painted or waxed, made
into a bird house, a planter or even a musical instrument.
Bring the whole
family and start a seasonal tradition. Choose the perfect pumpkin to carve,
gather beautiful Indian corn, colorful gourds and choose from pumpkins of
all different colors and sizes.
Visit our GENERAL
STORE and choose from a variety or seasonal items and produce.
If you have
young children visit our Kiddy Corral. Go through our Spookley Maze and
learn the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin and why it’s O.K. to be
square in a round world.
If you’re the
type that likes a challenge you may want to navigate your way through our
"Maniac Maze III" finding all 27 hidden spots to complete Maniac story. If
the thought of getting lost in a maze doesn't appeal to you, try taking a
relaxing stroll through our Labyrinth.
While visiting our Pumpkin Patch, take the time to go up on our observation
tower and enjoy the view. Look out over our 20-acre corn maze and beyond. We
are right next to the Hollister Airport and Bay Area Glider Rides. The
week-end of the Salinas Air Show is always fun because many of the planes
come into the Hollister Airport. This year the show will be the week-end of
Sept. 28th, 29th and 30th.
Would you like
to see the maze from the air? Take a glider ride! It’s an experience you’ll
never forget. |
